Event Details: Date/Time: April 3rd, 4:45 PM – 6:00 PM Location: Malloy Hall LL4
Description:
Join us for an inspiring story of how sustainable and responsible trade and investment can lead to world peace and prosperity, a vision closely aligned with the University of San Francisco’s core values.
Our esteemed speaker, Tucker Kuhn, CEO of Roots of Peace and a proud USF alumnus, will share the trailblazing journey of this remarkable organization. Roots of Peace, founded by award-winning humanitarian Heidi Kuhn, has been transforming war-torn lands into thriving farmlands through its “mines to vines” approach for the past 25 years.
Kuhn will recount how Roots of Peace’s farmer-focused development model has revitalized farmland, food security, livelihoods, and resilience by demining and converting minefields into arable farmlands. The organization has helped over 1 million farmers and families in war-torn countries export fruits, nuts, and spices produced from the regenerated land to international markets.
This event promises to provide valuable insights into the powerful role of sustainable agriculture, trade, and investment in promoting peace and prosperity around the globe. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from a trailblazing leader and engage with a cause that aligns with USF’s mission of creating a more humane and just world.
The event is co-hosted by the School of Management International Business Program.
