CBSI Executive in Residence Ker Gibbs joined a panel of experts to discuss President Biden’s executive order, which is being called “Reverse CFIUS.”
Mr. Gibbs explained that we need to think about CFIUS, reverse CFIUS, and export controls in the context of the new security environment. Both governments, the US and China, are exerting more control over companies within their jurisdictions, especially in tech. There are risks, but now could be exactly the right time to invest. China’s need for capital could improve deal terms, while pent-up demand among consumers will spur growth.
