She has extensive experience in project management and conducting research. Her intended career path is investment strategy in China and Southeast Asia.

Angel is a first generation college student at the University of San Francisco. As a Computer Science major, he is intrigued by the subjects of Cybersecurity and Machine Learning. Being able to create and secure an idea, project, or change, that can benefit communities throughout society.  He is also invested in the world of business and entrepreneurship and how they play hand in hand in hand with the field of technology.

With more than five years of experience working in Japan, Drew is now pursuing an MBA and Master’s degree in Asia Pacific Studies at the University of San Francisco. His experience in education, small business, and nonprofit has prepared him to engage a variety of problems and create lasting solutions.

Evan Matthew Chan 陳家亮

Evan is a graduate student based in San Francisco, California with extensive coursework in the intersection of cultural politics and Asia Pacific Studies. His professional experience spans work in higher education and food and beverage management. Given my years of working with students and leading teams within the service world, his goal is to apply my extant skills in education and leadership to a future career in the nonprofit or NGO world.

Giselle is a junior at the University of San Francisco. As an accounting major, she is fascinated by the breadth of industries she will be able to work and immerse herself. A long-term goal of her is to utilize her background in accounting to lift and empower individuals through financial literacy and education. Being involved in student leadership and internships has curbed her strong desire to learn and grow from her peers and mentors. As such, she loves to work in dynamic and collaborative environments.

Jack Sieber 沈杰克

BSBA Finance & International Business

Jack is an undergraduate student studying Finance and International Business at the University of San Francisco. He is passionate about sustainability, technology, and Chinese language and culture. Previously, he was a Launch Manager at Starship Technologies, where he brought autonomous robot meal delivery to university campuses across the United States. As an Asia Bridge Junior Fellow, he researched how Chinese netizens reacted to China’s waste import bans on social media. This summer he is interning with Ford’s Strategy and Planning team to bring their light duty vehicles into compliance with California’s new zero-emission regulations.

Hemil is a Full-Time MBA student at the University of San Francisco where he is also working as a Technical Program Manager. He has a strong technical background with a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from the University of Mumbai. He is an engineer and entrepreneur experienced in both technical and managerial aspects. For future roles, he intends to apply these acquired skills to business projects.

Chuhan is an undergraduate student majoring in Economics and minoring in Math, Philosophy, and Legal Studies. He is also in the 4+1 Master’s program of International and Development Economics. Born and raised in China, he is fascinated by its political economy. With this general research interest in mind, he intends to pursue a doctorate degree in the future.

Poonam is a doctoral student of Learning and Instruction with a concentration in Educational Technology. She was in the first cohort of the Asia Bridge Graduate Fellow for 2022-23. She has worked as a senior Human Resource professional in the field of education, pharmaceutical, and financial services companies. She has completed a Masters in the fields of Human Resources, School Psychology, and Clinical Psychology. She volunteers with the Silicon Valley chapter of TiE Global, a non-profit organization devoted to fostering entrepreneurship.

With deep interest in brand building and communication, Uma has worked on corporate, consumer and policy vertical in the technology domain in past five years on clients such as Honeywell, ASUS India, HP Inc., Autodesk, NIIT Technologies, Infoedge, Naukri.com, 99acres.com and Ezetap. She has also handled crisis communication for over a year for TikTok. Her experience and expertise lies in ensuring the right positioning of the brand with integrated communication strategies. She has worked on media and influencer engagement campaigns, events (Autodesk University 2019, Jaipur Literature Festival), product launches for consumer brands along with managing content and end to end execution for activities.
